Disease Common Denominator - Oxidative Stress

Oxidative stress arises when the production of reactive oxygen species exceeds the body’s electron-based defense capacity. These unpaired electrons strip stability from biomolecules, damaging lipids, proteins, and DNA. The result is chronic, low-grade inflammation that underlies metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurodegenerative disease. In a grounded state, the body maintains a steady supply of mobile electrons that can neutralize excess oxidants before they propagate chain reactions.

When direct electrical contact with the Earth is restored, a subtle but measurable electron flow enters the body’s conductive networks - skin, extracellular matrix, and blood plasma. These electrons act as natural antioxidants, lowering local redox potential and reducing oxidative stress in tissues. From a physics standpoint, grounding rebalances electrical charge and stabilizes voltage across biological interfaces. From a biological one, it restores the conditions necessary for redox signaling, repair, and homeostasis.
